Sharing Stories of Survival & The Transparent Truths About Breast Cancer
Something we hear far too often is that the hardest part comes after treatment ends.
So. We’re doing something about that.
“Ta Ta For Now” is a new space created for women who have lived through something that profoundly changed them — and were then expected to move on. It’s for thrivers powering through treatment, survivors navigating the long aftermath and supporters who want to understand what healing actually requires.
“If you’re here because of cancer, because of healthcare trauma, because you’re burned out, grieving, angry or just questioning everything — you’re in the right place!”
“Healing Does Not Happen In Silence”
This podcast exists because silence is not neutral.
Silence is isolating.
Silence is how women get dismissed, delayed and left to carry the weight alone.
What We’re Covering – & With Whom
Ta Ta For Now isn’t a traditional cancer podcast. It’s not pink. It’s not polished. And it’s not interested in pretending survival is inspirational on demand.
We’ll have solo episodes and conversations with survivors and thrivers, caregivers, advocates and medical professionals who are willing to be real about the gaps.
Together, we’ll discuss the complicated stuff:
- Mental health, burnout, grief, anxiety & rage
- Trying to work & manage finances while going through treatment
- Fertility and reproductive injustice
- Sexuality, menopause & intimacy
- Medical gaslighting within the patient room
- Inequities within healthcare policy
- What it means to support women beyond treatment
“Neutrality does not serve women. Silence does not protect us.”
Who The “Ta Ta for Now” Podcast is For
If you’ve ever felt unseen by the healthcare system, pressured to “be strong” or told you’re “fine” when you know you’re not, this space is for you.
It’s also for the people trying to support someone they love, who want honest language and a clearer understanding of what survivorship can actually look like.
“That gap.. between what we experience and what we’re allowed to talk about, that’s where this podcast lives.”
Why? Because Women Deserve Better Information & The Best Outcomes
Our CEO and host, Bess Hagans, is a Stage 3 breast cancer survivor. She’s also spent years listening to women describe the same pattern, right when life gets complicated in new ways.
“During treatment, people show up. But when treatment ends? The check-ins fade. And suddenly, you’re expected to be grateful. Resilient. ‘Back to normal.’”
“Survivorship is Where The Real Silence Lives”
Survivorship isn’t neat. It’s not linear.
And for many women, it’s where the mental health fallout and long-term side effects really begin.
Episode 1 is Offically Live Across All Major Podcast Platforms!
Our first episode is called “What No One Prepared Us For.” It acts as a gut check about the realities of women’s healthcare and sets the tone for what this podcast will be: honest, grounded, and built for real life.
In Episode 1, Bess talks about what happens after diagnosis, after surgery, after chemo, after radiation. And she uncovers why so many women feel abandoned right when the world expects them to “bounce back.”
“This podcast is not about having all the answers. It’s about asking better questions… & staying connected when things are hard.”
Ta ta for now. We’re just getting started.
